The measuring principle is elegantly simple yet mechanically sophisticated. Inside the flowmeter's chamber, a pair of precisely machined spiral rotors forms a seal with the casing. As liquid flows through, the pressure differential causes the ABR-Birotor Flowmeter's rotors to turn. Each rotation traps and displaces a fixed, known volume of liquid. This rotation is mechanically transferred via a magnetic or sealed coupling to the mechanical counter for the Birotor flowmeter, providing a direct, power-free totalization of volume. For modern data needs, an optional pulse converter can tap this motion to provide electronic output signals.
